Personal Training

All computer users are different. They have their own jobs, businesses, hobbies, and interests. Microsoft Office can be a powerful tool for effective and efficient communication and results.

When the customer brings their projects to the tutorial, we work together to design the finished product. I let the customer “drive” the mouse, explaining what to do and guiding them to do it themselves. In that way, customers learn and their work gets done!

Corporate Training

Everybody thinks they know how to use MS Office, but it’s the hidden and advanced features that allow employees to save time and communicate effectively. I guarantee return on investment!

1-on-1: I’ll sit down with key employees to see how they use Office in their job, then offer new techniques and create custom solutions that will save the company money.

Example: At The Portland Clinic, LLC, I worked with the Workman’s Comp biller to create a database of insurance companies, and a labeling system. By saving her one hour a day, my 5 hours of design & training saved the clinic $4,000 in just the first year.

Classroom training: Key personnel can be trained as a group.

Example: At Turtledove Clemens advertising agency, I trained their entire office to use PowerPoint, including using templates so that all their individual presentations had the same look and feel.

Special Projects: Hire me as an independent contractor for one-time Microsoft Office projects.

Examples:

  1. At Columbia Sportswear, I converted all of their internal Word documents to a template system, so all internal communication was formatted identically and stored on a server.
  2. For Rob Levy at Prudential Real Estate, I designed a PowerPoint presentation for conferences on using e-mail as a real estate selling tool. I also designed a mail merge template for his monthly postcard mailings.

Business Optimization and Software Implementation: When new software is introduced at a company, avoid chaos by managing the training. By addressing the concerns of each department, new systems are implemented incorporating Best Practices. When employees are then trained, they learn not just the software, but how it should be used.

Examples:

  1. At The Portland Clinic, LLC, they brought on a new Scheduling and Billing software system. I met with the Coordinators of every department to discover what they needed the computers to do for their business to run effectively. We orchestrated the training in such a way that, for example, we taught the Schedulers where to enter data in the Notes that the Front Desk would need when a patient arrived. Instead of simply training employees on what buttons to click, I developed a comprehensive medical management system using the software’s features. The employees never knew they were being taught to enter information requested by different departments. They just thought that’s how the software worked.
  2. At Inclusion, Inc., I met with all employees to see how they saved their individual clients’ spreadsheets and documentation. I developed a Best Practices list, and trained each employee to save their work the same way so that all were consistent.
